SMTP Authentication in Outlook 2010

  1. Load Microsoft Outlook 2010
  2. Go to the 'File' tab
  3. Go to the 'Info' section
  4. Click on 'Account Settings'
  5. Click the drop-down button titled 'Account Settings...'
  6. Select your email account from the list.
  7. Click the 'Change...' button
  8. Click the 'More Settings...' button
  9. Select the 'Outgoing Server' tab.
  10. Select 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication'
  11. Select 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server'
  12. To exit, Click 'OK' then 'OK' then 'Next' then 'Finish' then 'Close'
  13. Close Outlook 2010, then Open Outlook 2010 again, so Outlook sees the change.
