Why do we put our own favicon.ico into your directory? The Wikipedia entry for Favicon says it best... "...web servers receive many requests for the file 'favicon.ico' even if it doesn't exist. This may annoy web server administrators by creating many server log entries, and unnecessarily loading the disk, CPU, and network." Exactly correct !!

Here is one of many websites that will help you create a favicon.ico file:
http://www.favicon.cc/
Once you have made a favicon.ico file, just put it into your public_html folder, which will overwrite the existing QTH favicon.ico file that is there already. That's it!
IMPORTANT: Favicons have a habit of staying in your browser cache for a long time. If you have replaced the default favicon.ico with your own file, and you are still seeing the old one, DON'T PANIC. It is probably working fine. Try using a different web browser, or a different PC, or ask a friend that you know has not seen your site, to check if the favicon is working right. You can also try to bring up the icon directly, by going to http://www.yourdomain.com/favicon.ico (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain, of course, and then press F5 to refresh your browser)
